The Audacity of Hope

In times of agony, hope saunters somewhere in the depths of the Pandora's box... Within lies a hoggish desire, an outpouring of feverish passion... Hope is infectious, you just have to wait for your turn.

the mash potato law

From Yen Seow:

Hess's law states that the energy change for any chemical or physical process is independent of the pathway or number of steps required to complete the process. Hence, enthalpy change for reactions can be calculated easily.

Now, calculate how much energy to make mash potato from its orginal form, aka enthalpy change of formation!

Death of a Soul

The black creeps in
Behold! A cunning stealth
Of eyes burning bright
The candle flame flickers
Behold! The audacity of hope

The aromatic stench
As a ghastly breeze blows
The rock shakes
Its caffeine foundation challenged

A world of scribbles
A path of escape
A realm of fanciful fantasy
A dead end

Void
Displaced by emptiness
Dwell in its rewarding comfort
Filled to the brim

Buzz of activity
Oh silent night
Of obedient heeding
Of willing surrender

Behold!
The peaceful war!
The universal solitude!
The blissful misery!

The cock crows twice
Betrayal, denial
Life creeps away
A flicker

Behold!
A lethal antidote for a poisoned soul

Susan Boyle

Presenting Susan Boyle from Britain Got Talent. When she went on stage, you can hear the laughter at her age, at her dream to become a professional singer. Despite jeers from the audience and seemingly insults from the judges, her confidence brought her through and her voice touched the hearts of many.

... a living inspiration, an emboldening motivation, a visible vision, a dream that we dream...

the power of vbc

vbc is powerful, for it exposes who a person truly is. under immense pressure you can observe some people do not practise what they preach. at the same time, you see a few sparkling gem which do not die out in the flame.

you look around and see who's left. and you know they can be trusted...

Q: Which part of your body do you like most?

A: My eyes. For at night, i look up to the skies, to see the sparkle of the stars, light which travelled for million of years, the relic from a page of the past. Yet in the morning, i see all of you; I see the future.

Not exact words but you get the idea...

lame lame lame

Today went for the cashflow thingy with jackie, shortie and whitie. The game is all about luck lah, please... chen long and i finished the entire game in 1 hour, while some tables are stuck at the rat race even after 2 hours. Then we went pizza hut for dinner. OMG the chilli padi totally killed me! btw below is lame quiz for you:

Do all of the following tutorial question:

1) Biology/Math
Q: Why did the red blood cells fail the math test?
A: Because they are unable to divide and multiply.

2) Economics
Q: Why is there shortage?
A: Because some people are just not tall enough.

3) Physics/Math
Q: Prove that d/dt of end is beginning.
A: d/dt of angular velocity (represented by omega) is angular acceleration (represented by alpha). Greek saying: "The alpha and the omega" which means "The beginning and the end." Hence, d/dt of end is beginning.

4) Chemistry
Q: Why did sodium ion and chloride ion form ionic bonds to become sodium chloride?
A: Because there is chemistry between them.

5) Economics/Math
Q: Prove that (d/dx of service) is larger than service).
A: Differentiated services create brand loyalty, thus increasing the demand.

proving the quantum theories

This is a lame post on electron orbitals. First I will attempt to prove the Hund's rule, hopefully i will get a nobel prize.

In buses, passengers fill up each seat singly before pairing up.

Now i will prove Pauli's Exclusion Principle - 2 nobel prizes please. Passengers in the same subshell will have opposite spins.

For my 3rd nobel prize, I will now go on to prove the uncertainty principle. Whenever a passenger boards a bus, his/her absolute position cannot be known definitely because we are always uncertain if we should sit at where we are siting. (i have blurred image of the person to prevent infringement on human privacy, however the greater reason is that the wave function of the passenger will collapse if he/she is aware that he/she is being measured)
To sum up my research, the pauli's exclusion principle, hund's rule and the uncertainty principle are proven true. It is reliable because precaution was taken to ensure that the wavefunction of the individual does not collapse upon measurement. Hence, consistent and accurate titration readings were obtained.

it probably didn't seem so long ago, but it has already been a month since we started lessons. somehow, the feeling is just different from those in high sch.

lessons pass by very quickly, it's just that feeling.

failing is common, U for understandable, S for superman, E for excellent, D for definitely better than excellent, C for completely unbelievable, B for bastard, A for AHMIGOOSH

quitting cca halfway is a norm.

spotcheck is quite funny.

teachers bet with you: if more than 80% get A/B for math, mr yeow will sing. of cos we didn't =.= but it's good motivation. oso got very nice teachers who treat you like frens ;p

senior/junior class is very big thing. seniors are very helpful in guiding you along the j1 year, so it's a relief...

The Road Not Taken (1915)

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

-Robert Frost

isyf!

before i start talking about isyf, today i went to watch my first movie of the year!!! and it's my first nc-16 movie, with timsng, kaizhi, and mojoejoejoe!! it's entitled Love Matters, 幸福万岁.

My rating: 2.5/5.

The show was rather funny, with a lot of sexual puns along the way. However, the storyline is quite cliche, something you would expect on Chnl 8 drama series.  The acting by the younger actors seemed rather... fake. There is a scene with the like of BDSM ZOMG!!! Overall, quite an "ok" show for the last day of hols, a light hearted funny one. Could have been better though. Plot is rather mature.. if you know what i mean.

international scandalous youth forum!

that's it, ISYF!

ok let's talk about proper things first LOLOLOL. It so happened that all 3 Nobel laureates were working with nuclear magnetic resonance. on the last day of the event, Prof Osheroff tried explaining to us about it, during closing ceremony. We were STUNNED.

On the first day, we had the opening ceremony followed by project meeting, then amazing race. OK! THE AMAZING RACE WAS CRAPPY, but rather fun. we went around the city area. We had to sing CNY songs LOUDLY in PUBLIC at CHINATOWN!!!! Then went sentosa. OMG THE SIREN OF THE SEA IS VERY NICE!!! super cool. would have been better without the lame storyline. 19th jan - kaizhi's birthday!!! bleh, the ritual. he was lucky they spray the deodorant around his underwear, not into it = = afterall, it's his first time xD

Side note: there were 5 shirts: blue, green, yellow, orange, red. guess how it came about! Benedict's solution! may it keep getting sweeter as the days progress!

Second day got the lectures and synopsium. Quite a few lot of ppl fall asleep like duh... we went night safari which was boring

Third day.. focus dialogues lectures.... sightseeing! but we stayed in boarding sch lol. went to gelato for ice cream and played some board games

Forth day.. went to the universities. boring! after that host dinner. wah dina so nice, buy so many things for us. on the way back, we niao her about how she got first in nanyang for 4 YEARS!!!

Fifth day... LAST DAY.. so sad. the closing ceremony was at shangarila hotel. OMG we were severed like royalty lah! the service was superb, so was the food! thank you sir, you're welcome sir, may i get you a drink sir.... SIA LAH!

Side note: we played cards till very late evrynite
SCANDALS!!!
throughout the isyf, we were discussing about CGs (chio gals) and who's the UCG (ultimate CG). that's why it's international scandalous youth forum, esp CEDRYCH, who hooked up on DESIREE within the first 2 days. it was rumoured that they kissed on DAY 6, wowow!

will not mention the scandals to protect their identities =/

im so grateful to my group for making isyf so fun!
project group: deborah, pamok, jordan, alex, liwen (facil)
amazing race group: gabriel, benben, dan, daisy, timmy, nina, auzee, (super)man!
and the many CGs, esp SHHHHHHHHH....

Movie Reviews

wow christmas so fast coming le..

i watched a few kmovies lol, quite nice - one recommendation:

Don't Tell Papa
Watch at: http://www.crunchyroll.com/media-298828/Dont-Tell-Papa-Movie-Complete.html
Rated: 15+

This show is very touching. It is about a guy and a girl who gave birth a child in high school. The girl faced objections from parents to keep the child and hence had to send it to the guy, who recieved the baby halfway through his lessons lol.

It fasts forward to 8 years later when the boy has grown up. He lives in a very unconducive environment, among the clubs and funny stuff. His language expresses utter vulgarities. His innocence mixed with his exposure saw many funny scenes in the movie.

... bleh not spoiling! Merry Christmas!

OBT was a blast. here's a summary of what we did:

Day 1: Reach Taiwan. Pitched tent, cooked dinner and prepared river tracing gears.
Day 2: River tracing was ubber fun, like duh. We got into something that looks like an alien suit lmao. After that, went back dried water stuff and got out backpacks. Acessible, Balanced COMPRESS! with that zhiming taught us how to pack in stuff.
Day 3: RAIN! we played 2 funny games, in which we thought out of the box. soso lor... later we started packing food for our mountain climbing excursion.
Day 4: Bus ride to the 登山口. It's worse than roller coaster omg.. STILL RAINING... So we trekked to 七卡山庄 in raincoats. Dinner was noodle soup YUM!
Day5: Trekked to 三六九山庄. On the way, we past by the 雪山东峰. It was Cccooooollllldddddd...
Day6: Woke up to find ice on the floor ZOMG. it's like -1°C! FREEZE! We had a solo afternoon, during which we reflected on the journey. We were supposed to go to 翠池 but in the end never cos many ppl got Altitude Mountain Sickness (AMS).
Day 7: Set off for 雪山主峰. We woke up at 4 amd set off at 6 lmao! it was super cool! We played with the snow along the way, which was rather fun. After we reached the peak, we had a discussion on whether we should go 翠池. Wayne announced that he was suspected of having a rib bone puncturing his lungs, so in the end never go.  That night, it was -3°C =.=
Day 8: Chiong towards the 登山口. Dinner was OMG! We had it at a restaurant and rice can keep taking. Bet they regretted putting the sign there.
Day 9: We unpacked our things and stuff like that before trying out high elements.
Day 10: Continued with high elements. We played something that like release you and you swing like a pendulum. It was great. At night, we stayed at a hostel, the tele got OMG MORE THAN 100 CHANNELS!!!
Day 11: Time to go home - SPAM BUY!

4D is first again!!! WOOOOOO~~! the unbroken streak since 2007 Term 2/3... something to be proud off albeit the thefts and noises that recurred in our class, bleh! today eoya kinda sian but got learn something on photography lah, sec 3s go paintball, sec 4s continue having workshops and lessons, good job organising team, $&*@^@#*(^!...
--------------------------------

nevertheless, we revisted certain places of the school, taking photos recounting memories... during sec one orientation, i remembered the buddy telling us never to step on the school logo in the centre of the globe, i remember that after the classes were announced, junkiat became my first non-montfortian friend in hwachong.

i remember how badly we screwed history in sec 1 term 1, while ferris got 17/20 *digusted with admiration*. i remembered how paul ho goped our xbox LOL! i remember how we fight all day in class, and cases of bullying until we got into trouble. i remember level day when jieqi was milked of blood by a punch. i remember that after eoya, we were called back to school to see mr jeffrey lim zzz... i remember teocc, who said: the cheap cheap red leaf pen will do; i dun like ring file, it's so bulky; are you tired of 31 days of march....

i remember how we complained about climbing 5 storeys to our class in sec 2. i remember how much we looked forward to returning to p sch to visit our teachers. i remember how syfoc was such a memorable experience, the call and burst of fire of joy (feu-di-joie). i remember the council retreat, which changed my perspective of life, during which we broke the photoframe (josh!) and how hansen caused the entire curtains to fall, how naifu burnt paper in the toilet and all of us getting caught by the security guard, and lied our way through that we are from china lmao..

i remember how tiring ihc was, chulalokong, vadjadipok (did i spell correctly?). i remember aphelion nite, which was special because we stayed up to 12 am to paint the banner and came back the next day to continue, till nigh, how it filled up the entire backdrop of the stage, a magnificent masterpiece. i remember how our class became a street soccer court by pulling the chairs to the sides. i remember npap, the lovely CIs who took up the ceremonial flags. i remember the funny and disastrous moments in exco, the "leaders' camp".

i remember the pride in our eyes when we got first in level again, and the best is yet to be. i remember the shrill sirens of our youth, the cry for liberty and freedom. i remember how the grills of the windows look like prison cages. i remember the fun moments as an nco. i remember the "jog" to holland which was so cool.

i remember forever, the place i call my second home...

toilet paper rationing

presenting to you the world class institution!

in order to create a sense of ownership and to prepare members for emergencies like war, TOILET PAPER RATIONING has been introduced. indeed, the resonance of the call for an INTEGRATED programme (for offices), where such essential life skills are being introduced to members and incorporated into the work.

this also provides LEADERSHIP opportunity members. each sector gets to appoint a RATION COLLECTION OFFICER to collect ONE roll of TOILET PAPER from the headquarters everyday. of course, the coveted role is greatly sought after by everyone in the sector! the invaluable and precious opportunity to serve the sector in the most noble way one can ever think of, who will not appreciate the institution's effort to make life such a wonderful experience. indeed, its members must be grateful for the fabulous welfare given to them, so that their butts may remain clean.

we applaud yet another ingenius and innovative initiative by the institution!

P.S. I wonder if they will ration soap

the last lesson of the afternoon

The last official lesson in high school - it's the end.
-----------------
Afternoon in School - The Last Lesson

When will the bell ring, and end this weariness?
How long have they tugged the leash, and strained apart
My pack of unruly hounds: I cannot start
Them again on a quarry of knowledge they hate to hunt,
I can haul them and urge them no more.
No more can I endure to bear the brunt
Of the books that lie out on the desks: a full three score
Of several insults of blotted pages and scrawl
Of slovenly work that they have offered me.
I am sick, and tired more than any thrall
Upon the woodstacks working weariedly.

And shall I take
The last dear fuel and heap it on my soul
Till I rouse my will like a fire to consume
Their dross of indifference, and burn the scroll
Of their insults in punishment? - I will not!
I will not waste myself to embers for them,
Not all for them shall the fires of my life be hot,
For myself a heap of ashes of weariness, till sleep
Shall have raked the embers clear: I will keep
Some of my strength for myself, for if I should sell
It all for them, I should hate them -- I will sit and wait for the bell.

Enough of those rubbish. Today lily was late, so we did a cheer/created noises in class. however, we settled down before she entered. "Just now, I heard a lot of noises, issit your class." "It's 4C."

it's official, i'm 54kg! f*** i'm so going on a diet. after eoys, i gonna go swimming woots! tell mii if you wanna join me, 2 hours a day, everyday, yea come on i need to lose 4kg!

air that enters you contains ~0.04% carbon dioxide while those leaving has ~4%. Tidal air is 500cm3, so that would be 19.8cm3 of CO2 leaving each time you breathe out. That will be 19.8/24000 moles of CO2. Since only carbon is added to the O2, we can only calculate the carbon. Hence, each time, we lose 12 x 19.8 / 24000 g of mass. We take 16 breathes in each minute on average. Therefore, we lose in 12 x 19.8 x 16 / (24000 x 60) = 0.00264g/s

i will remember your scent

Nothing is more memorable than a smell. One scent can be unexpected, momentary and fleeting, yet conjure up a childhood summer beside a lake in the mountains; another, a moonlit beach; a third, a family dinner of pot roast and sweet potatoes during a myrtle-mad August in a Midwestern town. Smells detonate softly in our memory like poignant land mines hidden under the weedy mass of years. Hit a tripwire of smell and memories explode all at once. A complex vision leaps out of the undergrowth.

"pop!" and the time is gone

Time is used to define other quantities. Velocity is displacement per unit time, download speed is bits per unit time.

I see time as the 3rd dimension. The analogy I will give is being in a car. If you are lagging behind a car in front of you, by increasing your speed, you catch up with the car in front. We can view different sections of the road as time zones, we are moving through time zones when we change our speed or any other things with time as a factor. Doing that brings us through the 3rd dimension. In the same way, if it is possible to change time, we move through a certain distance, not in a direction, as defined in the 2 existing dimensions, but through a particular warp.

Yet, time has been given a lacking definition. Look at tapes, they record that dimension and projects it in another time zone, is that not traveling through time. Indeed, with our limited ability, it is difficult, if not impossible, to travel literally through time. Yet, our brains project time in another dimension; men call this "memory".

This unexplainable phenomenon is something we detest yet appreciate. It haunts us, time through time, in agonising yearning for the past. Yet, we love to reminisce. Probably, I will never forget what happened and whatever that is going to happen in time to come. At times, we take such cherished moments for granted. For things to meet, we need to be in the right space, at the right time. How big the Earth is, and how infinite time stretches. Its probabilities, endless.

While so, there will always be a specific space and time in which one never ever forget. In sustained events, the time may stretch across longer than an instantaneous moment, and space, across various areas. Time as short as 4 years, is long enough is leave a formidable depression on a 16 years old's soul. A shorter period of 1 year may plunge a deeper hole. This is because the definition here is incomplete as well. Like coenzymes, space and time may be enhanced by cofactors, in this case other existing humans. In its right combination, the force is greater. In a even shorter span, the impression is greater, just like pressure is greater with the same force over a smaller area. In this form, it is invaluable. For that, I am thankful for the 39 joyful individuals.

Some groups, like the Mayans, suggest the time is cyclical. That means that time goes in cycles, and events will repeat themselves. Let us hope it is such, so that our joyful adventures, may come alive before us again.

From: http://www.personalityresearch.org/papers/eischens2.html [The Dilemma of the Only Child]

Just read a SUPER interesting article that revolves about the Birth Order Theory. The theory states the effect of birth order in the introversion and extraversion of a person, and on moulding a person's personality. "Ambivert" is a term coined, used to a person if they exhibit different behaviours at different times.

Firstborns have been shown to be more conscientious, ambitious, academically oriented, conforming, conservative, inclined toward leadership, and respectful of their parents than their later-born siblings. Conversely, children born later in the birth order tend to be more unconventional, flexible, and rebellious (Sulloway, 1997, p. 5). Only children, being firstborn themselves, tend to exhibit traits more similar to those of other firstborn children. However, only children seem to have better self-esteem and are higher achievers than children who have siblings (Brophy, 1989, p. 54).

"Only children don't easily assimilate into large groups, and when they do they tend to dominate" (Brophy, 1989, p. 55).

friendship

We call that person who has lost his father, an orphan; and a widower that man who has lost his wife. But that man who has known the immense unhappiness of losing a friend, by what name do we call him? Here every language is silent and holds its peace in impotence.

Case Study of Multilateral Diplomacy

Case Study: Association of Secondary Four Noilehpa Classes (ASFNC)

Success of ASFNC in promoting cooperation among member classes, which consist of Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta.

ASFNC has set up its ASFNC Free Trade Area (AFTA), through which its members are encouraged to improve their bilateral diplomatic ties by engaging in trading and establishing Free Trade Agreement (FTA). Through such agreements, information can be traded freely among member classes, for the good of all nations. For example, just today, Beta has provided detail information on the strain of virus, Immuno Homo Corpus (IHC). This has allowed Delta to call an emergency meeting among Members of Parliament (MP), with its chairman leading the committee. In the session, they successfully brainstormed solutions to counter the impeding epidemic.

Congratulations ASFNC!

the sky is the limit

Before she went, she asked, who said: "Success is a lousy teacher." STUNNED* "Bill Gates"

erm.. so?

So mrs. ooi, the philosophical one left us with this well obvious quote one year ago, mebbe even more, before she ended our first math lesson in sec 3. yup i confess, she's monotonous and her tests are as lovely as murderers. so math recently was an epidemic that wiped out the human race, and her lulaby plays on....

yet, there is this undebatable, uncontested feeling of respect for this puny lady, the same lady who was advised to change her job due to throat infection. come to think of it, it was rather mean to say things like deep throa* ;p? yet, there is space to expand before the boundaries when she bombards us with numbers and symbols that dun seem to make any sense. yet, it seems that determination to scale her mountain of work (LITERALLY) flowed unceasingly.

i wun say that my love for math multiplied after my mind was "integrated with respect to" the subject, nor will i say the willingness(?) to do her work decreases. rather, the "derivative" of her wisdom dawned new light on "never never never give up" - churchill. and it was so, m for math and murderer and monster... you name it.

m is for mental muscles too; will power in other words. seemingly, though she spams difficult questions to challenge us, we manage to arrive at the end, in the end. this pricks us to think that the path is there, find it. its poke prods us forward to discover what the mountains have to offer, not just in monstrous math, but also in every dead end we find ourselves in.

just a week ago, she asked what the first quote she told us was. indeed failure may prove to be a better teacher.

however the deadend never fails to squeeze a groan of disappointment and despair out of us. turn back, if we must to achieve our goal. yet, the challenge is clear. it is neither running back in haste to find the next possibility, or jump to catch a glimpse, to seek a clue. it is thinking out of the box, to think in spite of despair and exhaustion; it is flapping your wings and fly. after all, the sky is the limit.

The UN holds a conference on causes of terrorism:

Chairperson: First, let us invite the Green Lover Association (GLA) to give us their stand on causes of terrorism.
GLA Spokesman: Thank you sir. Let me present to you the latest report on ozone depletion. The hole was found by scientists in Lalaland to have enlarged by 10.3%....
Delegate: May I ask, with due respect, what are the links with terrorism?
GLA Spokesman: Thank you for the question. With ozone depletion, the amout of UV rays that enters earth increases significantly. It is also found that UV rays turn us radical by homolytic
fission. Therefore, let us reduce the use of CFC products. Thank you chairman.

Young, Gay and Murdered
Kids are coming out younger, but are schools ready to handle the complex issues of identity and sexuality? For Larry King, the question had tragic implications.
The star: 15 years old larry
Key points:
  • Larry decks out women accessories to school and dressed like a girl
  • On the day of his death, he was dressed like a boy
  • Larry was diagnosed with reactive attachment disorder, a rare disorder in which children never fully bond with their caregiver or parents
  • Happened in California where gay marriage is allowed
  • Blames directed to TV dramas which potray gays / Increasing acceptance of gays
  • Studies show that the average age when kids self-identified themselves as gay has fallen to 13-14
  • Parents usually find out a year later
  • Kids want to express their own personality, even their homosexuality

In a report from UK, shampoo that gets into drinking sources contains chemical which result in men becoming gay, accounting why it has become a even more serious issue in the 21st century.

No comments, to be tactful.

recap of things missing:
Glass block (s3)
Protractor (s3)
Microscope slides (/w sample) (s4)
Scapel (s4)
Computer spoilts, cables out, buttons on mouse pluck out (s4)

the story:
the guy took the microscope slides, but the sample was stuck to the slide, so he stole the scapel to cut it out. In order to analyse, he used the glass block to magnify, and got the protractor to measure various stuff. He used the cables to connect the reading to his computer.

i'm a dreamy idealist

Dreamy Idealists are very cautious and therefore often appear shy and reserved to others. They share their rich emotional life and their passionate convictions with very few people. But one would be very much mistaken to judge them to be cool and reserved. They have a pronounced inner system of values and clear, honourable principles for which they are willing to sacrifice a great deal. Joan of Arc or Sir Galahad would have been good examples of this personality type. Dreamy Idealists are always at great pains to improve the world. They can be very considerate towards others and do a lot to support them and stand up for them. They are interested in their fellow beings, attentive and generous towards them. Once their enthusiasm for an issue or person is aroused, they can become tireless fighters.

For Dreamy Idealists, practical things are not really so important. They only busy themselves with mundane everyday demands when absolutely necessary. They tend to live according to the motto ¡°the genius controls the chaos¡± - which is normally the case so that they often have a very successful academic career. They are less interested in details; they prefer to look at something as a whole. This means that they still have a good overview even when things start to become hectic. However, as a result, it can occasionally happen that Dreamy Idealists overlook something important. As they are very peace-loving, they tend not to openly show their dissatisfaction or annoyance but to bottle it up. Assertiveness is not one of their strong points; they hate conflicts and competition. Dreamy Idealists prefer to motivate others with their amicable and enthusiastic nature. Whoever has them as superior will never have to complain about not being given enough praise.

As at work, Dreamy Idealists are helpful and loyal friends and partners, persons of integrity. Obligations are absolutely sacred to them. The feelings of others are important to them and they love making other people happy. They are satisfied with just a small circle of friends; their need for social contact is not very marked as they also need a lot of time to themselves. Superfluous small talk is not their thing. If one wishes to be friends with them or have a relationship with them, one would have to share their world of thought and be willing to participate in profound discussions. If you manage that you will be rewarded with an exceptionally intensive, rich partnership. Due to their high demands on themselves and others, this personality type tends however to sometimes overload the relationship with romantic and idealistic ideas to such an extent that the partner feels overtaxed or inferior. Dreamy Idealists do not fall in love head over heels but when they do fall in love they want this to be a great, eternal love.

so that's one year right?

wooosh! and it's gone! almost 1 year since the start of beloved burden... and 61 more days to go! [no pics, pics make me emo]

sometimes i wonder if i should feel glad or not, for 4 years this has been the day i have been looking forward to, yet it all seemed too fast. i'm still wondering if i have really grown, vertically no doubt, but in the cerebral aspect, i have second thoughts...

before that, there was syf and npap, both which changed my direction, or else i would land up as mebbe, another thing rotting in the corner..
quick extracts:

syf (01/07/06) - "who ask you to shoot?!", "the rifle is your wife now, your gf is second to it", "the bayonet cut into his head and he went to icu, careful!", "beat those green guys", "today is the first of july, saturday, we're here at the national stadium, the second last parade to be held here", "kawalan kerhormatan, akan tembak feu-di-joie, kawalan kerhormatan, isikan baru!", "1,2,3,4,left,right,left,4,3,2,1,GOH", "you sound like firecrackers"

npap - "if the ci falls, grab the flag, dun care bout the ci"

nco camp (01/07/07 to 03/07/07) - "1 year aniversary le leh, let's buy cake, syf4eva", "ncos cannot be on time, they have to be early", "bag check!", "who threw the bread into the dustbin?", "i give you all 1 minute to change into your full u"

now, let's see how it started, it all began with sch-based ndp, where i had fun with the sec 3s, more like got bullied! so got poked here and there by batons, but it was fun, and i never forget how my opinion of them changed.. they weren't that bad as others described.

so we zomg to the true start of the term, with our seniors' pop. i rmbed going all the way to kinokuniya just to get gulliver's travels and a piggy (from pooh) for elson, and randomed out other stuff for the cc fis and predecessors.

visting joel tan (14/09/07) - the first outing! was passing by clementi station and it reminded me of this dumb thing! so street directory scammed me. we took 156 hoping to reach somewhere and change 33 to nuh, but got lost, so we go into this chicken rice stall and had lunch. walked to clementi station and took train to buona vista, from there take bus to nuh =.= we played the swing and i almost flew out T_T after the visit, we took a LONG bus ride to near bukit timah, the hillview area, and took another bus (i think 171) back to sch for MAF. i rmbed someone, issit timyap talking bout anime, zihao crapping wadeva. MAF was an impromptu thing lmao, like all other events

squad chalet (11/03/08 to 13/03/08)- lmao lmao! so we had ugbc meeting in the morning, rushed home and then to downtown east chalet, AND REALISED IT WAS THE WRONG PLACE. so trekked to pasir ris there and got niaoed =/ we wanted to go lan, but it was full and exp. we had bbq so sec 4s went to have sakae xD they bought a gigantic watermelon and still rmb the face of songken eating it, and zhirong rushing to the toilet after that juicy murderer entered him. and gay martin lying on zhirong at THAT AREA! card games and suddenly dorje appeared and told us ghost stories... fell asleep =.= next day went langaming at doby, then went home

i shall dao the rest of the things that happened, for example, going to lanshop for carp lmao!

yup, it's ending le, the cage is open, the wilderness waits. up up and away, to the foreign space

unit camp?!

turned out to be a free and easy chalet afterall =.=

so basketball... uh huh... then started our jog (or rather walk) to holland village =) as we reached, we revisited childhood, here's CHILDish xn and jm:

woah, and we saw the windmill of holland v, the symbol in the drama series holland v!

of cos, we're hungry, like duh?! 8km, and another 6km to go back. hungry cai with bah chor mee

presty gluping his big glup

tjm gobbling down the famous holland v nasi lemak

got 3 cakes for the sec 2s and for cai, remus, ktoh (bah! ktoh went pool too bad!) haha chanced upon CAKE OF THE DAY, which cost $42... lucky got discount of 20% = 33.60. Got 2 of that and a SPECIAL CREAM CAKE (you'll noe why later)

so after getting the stuff (which is our primary aim of going to holland v) we can't help but see this sign that we showed junrong

then we begin our arduous journey back =.= wanted to take 74.. so we walked... and chanced upon a sign that decietfully reads "coronation road west". since we wanted to go coro to buy unit camp stuff, might as well walk this way! so we JWALKED (we dun have road safety, only got safety first ;p)

as we stepped into the lane, we were like awed by the palace like houses wtf! the northsouth divide theory! myrdal's model of culmulative causation, spartial distribution of wealth! nvm!

so we walked.. for wad seemed like eternities. so we closed our eyes, opened them again and looked at the sign: coronation road west! never seems to end!

so here's the three juggernauts presty xn and tjm

finally! coronation road! and saw boarding sch wtf... so long! while pres and xn went back first to put the cakes, tjm, cai and i went to coro to get the prizes... woah it seems like sec 4s always do saikang for sec 3s, never been the case lor! bah happened during smops oso! CONCLUSION: ALL THOSE BORN IN 1993 ARE SCREWED. woots, i feel better now

after buying the prizes and snacks which we claimed rightfully as service charge, we headed back for move nite. "SECRET" omg... at night watch emo movie! bah lucky bought snacks and juice to crunch on ;p so we gl the movie, at kissing scenes my phone would ring with "happy tree frens" ringtone, wadda bore!

since remus gotta go off soon, we dao yalam in irc pooling and carried on with ramus and cai's bdae celebration! presenting, da CAKE OF THE DAY!

make a wish, so we were almost chanting: we wish that POP is tomorrow!

after that before solo nite, at 12 00 we brought daniel to the space outside and commence the longlost tradition! cake in the face! so he closed his eyes, hoping that the cake will be a nice one. amd sure it was, thick cream lies the horizon! those who wan video get from me ;p the remnants!

zzz solo nite was soso, scared more than 5 ppl by throwing pebblers, calling staff room phone! I ADMIT! wadeva... so the guy kinda freaked out and said there were noises and the phone keeps ringing... so we told him: "you are imagining things!" the worst you can tell someone who rly noes it happened ;p

with an empty wallet, we had breakfast at kap... so the day was spent playing cards! post its was lame. the ot claimed we were sitting on it, so we played along and asked for juice if they wanted us to stand up. of cos didn't get lor =.=

The addiction

i think i'm addicted to sadistic thoughts, the feeling of strength and satisfaction after killing someone brutally in a dream... perhaps i'm addicted to pain, to the blood that flows, like the river will. it is the river that no one takes a second look, the river once pure but desecrated, the river that bores the very evil of man...

many dun blink an eye, yet they know they are stained, by the very sin that contaminates their soul, their conscience purged and pierced, their heart hard and cold; albiet they know the sheer agony which they betroth to those around them - till the numbness sets in...

no image can potray the lust which incurs death, death of the heart of the soul, death of the only reason for love in life. yet blindness sets in, and the mist of darkness shrouds us, the selfishness engulfs. we remain drown, submerged beneath doubts and uncertainty. yet blood continues flowing, flowing from the very hands that that leaves a permanent scar in the hearts of others...

are you guilty?

Dragons - a repost

was digging up my old com =) :

they who frolicked in the endless sky,
whose scales shimmered
and wings extended,
and naught could compare.

and magnificent they were,
glorious a sight to behold,
betrothen to the azure sky,
legends of old, centerpiece of folklore.

yet much as naught can be compared,
betrayal unleashed its rage,
and mercilessly took its toll
on these mighty warriors of the skies.

their magnificence daunted,
beauty disfigured by the flaw of their hearts,
which once burned with fiery and flame,
now no more than a kindle.

the fall greater than ascension,
battered wings silent on the ground
never to take off again,
and tongues of fire extinguished with sands of time.

history fleeing with the wind,
sent pummeling into impaired memories,
and by the time we came around,
dragons were in a lifetime long past.

a faded memory in an obsolete mind,
a craving for a better time,
the forgotten fairytale,
a lifetime buried away with time.

tales of these aerial warriors by old folks retold,
came about a mysterious find that shone like gold.
wings lifted, dreams revived,
no longer was it, Once upon a time..

Iron Man and ARD

Thank you to Haojie and Hongliang for giving me the wonderful pig =) *Take me home! To Xining, Junrong, Ktoh, Wenwei, Shengjie and Kaeyuan, I wore the boxers on ARD! Woah RED HOT! I'll post the picture after it's dried =।= My mum was like, that one wear le very 凉 right?॥

Today went to school at 7+ for iron man. First we have to build some structure and a bouncing device then allow us to bounce a cube over a 30 cm wall. Argh! Cut myself! Rather surprised to see Johnny there helping out o.O Wah damn scam! Ours can roll very far de, dunnoe why when the judges do it, it does not get across until the 3rd try ;p Not very far though, but got some points.
Next section was uber lame, no comments!
Third one we had to solve a BIG BIG BIG Jigsaw puzzle. COOL DUDE!
In the end, got 8th (i।e. we are going to the semi-finals!)

After that ARD, rather sian। The music thingy wasn't really smooth. Had a few quarrels but let's just cough it off. Had a very interesting photo taking and a bonding session o.O Never was the tradition though...

Here's the "gay" photo of Sec 2s =.=

Brings me to a song by Black Eyed Pea: Where is the Love. Great Lyrics!

What's wrong with the world, mama, People livin' like they ain't got no mamas
I think the whole world addicted to the drama, Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma
Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism, But we still got terrorists here livin'In the USA, the big CIA
The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK, But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate, And to discriminate only generates hate
And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah, Madness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates, Man, you gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate, Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all, y'all

People killin', people dyin', Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practice what you preach, And would you turn the other cheek
Father, Father, Father help us, Send some guidance from above'
Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love (Love) x 3
Where is the love, the love, the love

It just ain't the same, always unchanged, New days are strange, is the world insane
If love and peace is so strong, Why are there pieces of love that don't belong
Nations droppin' bombs, Chemical gasses fillin' lungs of little ones
With ongoin' sufferin' as the youth die young, So ask yourself is the lovin' really gone
So I could ask myself really what is goin' wrong, In this world that we livin' in people keep on givin'in
Makin' wrong decisions, only visions of them dividends, Not respectin' each other, deny thy brother
A war is goin' on but the reason's undercover, The truth is kept secret, it's swept under the rug
If you never know truth then you never know love, Where's the love, y'all, come on (I don't know)
Where's the truth, y'all, come on (I don't know), Where's the love, y'all

Chorus

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder, As I'm gettin' older, y'all, people gets colder
Most of us only care about money makin', Selfishness got us followin' our wrong direction
Wrong information always shown by the media, Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria, Kids wanna act like what they see in the cinema
Yo', whatever happened to the values of humanity, Whatever happened to the fairness in equality
Instead in spreading love we spreading animosity, Lack of understanding, leading lives away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under, That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down
There's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under, Gotta keep my faith alive till love is found

Chorus

Visit to Yang Lao Shi's House

Went to Yang Lao Shi's house to Bai Nian on Saturday! It was rather weird at first, with no one wanting to talk about anything.

Random topics: How old is your son?

Not too hard to guess, she's pregnant when I'm in P1. She taught me again in P5 and she's pregnant again, seems like she's always pregnant lmao..
Then we moved on to reminisce about our past, and our very mischievious past...

The laser pointer trick: we pass the remote control around and use the laser pointer on it to point at the teacher’s head or anywhere you can think of. We’ll start laughing and pretend nothing happen.

The Great Escape (1): 10 minutes before lesson end, half the class will go to the toilet and never come back.

The Great Escape (2): In primary school, you have to line up outside the class and walk to rows of twos during dismissal. The teacher will stop like once every 1 minute to ensure no one is talking. Being impatient beings like we are, we realised that there is something called the backdoor and fire route escape stairs and zoom, there we go.

Many more! It’s rather funny when you think about it, even the teachers will find it that way!
My class photo! I'm not inside lmao?! Sick on the day of outing T_टी

After visiting our teacher on Saturday, we went to Yoshinoya। Introducing orange-flavoured Miso Soup!

The Theory of Relativity

Einstein's theory of relativity is an ambiguous topic, which many argue of its credibility. However, if we use a microscope to view each small matter in life, we know the proof is never distant.

Let me cite a classic example.

You are a secondary school student, you got 75 (a marvellous A1)for your Mathematical Test. If all others in class scored something like an F9, your mum will probably bring you on a trip to Hawaii. On the other hand, if others score full marks, your mum will definitely screw you upside down and inside out.

It is not realistic to say, "Let's not compare our child to others." What we perceive as excellent or horrendous is always based on a certain benchmark, of which foundations build on the achievements of others. It is never false to say that you have risen when you remained in your original position while others fall down the cliff.

Many a times, because of this, we, humans, tend to push others down to raise our status. And due to this theory of relativity, we propose that others be killed if we were to survive and this is also the reason why communism fail, because we compare and we want to do the least and get the most. Even adjectives like least and most are used in comparison with other quantities. You can never have the most number when there are only two people, grammatically.

Let us bring ourselves to this realistic, practical and even pragmatic world of ours. If we were to tell ourselves, let's not compare, we're good and such, you are blatantly telling a lie. Yes, many professional football players of certain random countries are good. They could probably thrash me 999-0 in a short 90 minutes span. Yet, if we throw in international stars, will you still say they are superb? Probably, you'll tell them to pack up and go home.

It brings us back to the theory of relativity, of how small we, humans, are compared to the galaxy. We admire others, despise others, because there is something to compare. Perhaps, it is the theory of relativity that brings out the analogies of our lives.

An OBS experience

So, here's the end of the 5 day camp (07/05 - 11/05) at Outward Bound Singapore, what Watch Hillary will call "a shitty experience". (literally)

Day 1
Collected our rations - 2 entire cartons of food!
We learnt how to paddle a TRI-YAK (a kayak with 3 paddlers). It was really fun! We paddled to some kelongs and practised capsize drill. It was so fun that 1 of the groups did it on purpose in the open sea.
Dinner - Soggy rice, sausages and preserved peanuts, with traces of poisonous solid fuel.
Sure had fun pitching tent and eating in the dark!

Day 2
RE-Learnt belaying. It was getting funny that Andy (instructor) has to be eating everytime we see him. After that, we packed our XX kg harversack and got ready to set off. Played a guai lan game in which most preferred stoning in the blaring sun.
Lunch - Biscuits, biscuits and MORE biscuits.
Went on to CAMP 1 where we tried the INVERSED TOWER. Almost fell off the damned swinging rope or whatever they call it. It was supposed to be a team effort, but I landed up soloing when my partner gave up halfway. Must be a feather in the cap for Chia Ling and Andre who set the record!
Dinner - HEAVENLY CATERED FOOD!!!
Supper - RED BEAN SOUP AND GREEN BEAN SOUP
Enjoyed a nice spray of Pricky Heat, along with the wonderful sea breeze in the tent!

Day 3
Time to go!
We set off for another area in a ROWBOAT. Yup, the one slaves rowed in. YES, we EXPECTED THE UNEXPECTED! We did not know how to row the DAMNED tricky rowboat and got pushed about by the choppy waves. Honestly, we were considered the best among the groups in Watch Hillary and Nila Utama, since we only got pushed in the ferry searoute.
There's 1 rowboat which experienced HELL! They got pushed in the TANKER sea route! What made it worse was a HUGE tanker appeared in the distance. I think they must have been scared out of their wits. Either the trainer was unaware or what. They got flung about for about a few minutes and the TANKER was just about 100 metres from them. A LOUD BLARING HORNY HORNING SOUND! Followed by the strieks of our emergency whistle - the one you see in Titanic. Luckily for them, they got saved by the instructors' speedboat in time!
We got a rowing lesson following a desperate radio to SUPERMARIO (course director).
So we set off for our destination. We spotted rain in the distance, around the Pasir Ris region but continued. When we were about to reached, there came thunderstorm. I thought they will pull us back to CAMP 1 and forget about the expedition. Who knows we continued to land in the storm and dragged our dirty, sandy, wet, soaked, damned damp, heavy, muddy, atrocious, despicable, idiotic ... bag to a canopy which was no help at all o.O. We changed into our dry clothes in the OPEN and spammed Pricky Heat Power till the ground is WHITE. Carrying our heavy haversacks and tents we set off for SHOPPING CENTRE, which is NO MORE THAN A DERELICT LAND CLEARING.
Cooked MAGGY MEE in the DARK. Lucky I didn't ate a lot... those who ate (7 out of 9++) got to use the SHIT DIGGER ENTRENCHER and DO IT answer nature's call behind some trees along the beach. So we camped for the night. We were splitted into shifts to feed the mosquitoes do sentry duty for a 30 minutes to 40 minutes period.

Day 4
About 5+, Foo Ren Xiang someone from my tent cried out that he needs to poo. He was unaware that there are people at the BOTTOM (BEACH) holding torches and guiding people to the SPOTS. So he was crying for people to accompany him. Obviously, everyone's torches are koped UTILISED by people doing duties. If you guessed he shitted in his pants, YOU ARE RIGHT!!! A cry, a shriek, followed by an Andy groping his way out to see what happened. It seemed so helpless at that time. The amusing part - never mind I'll talk about that later!
So let's move away from the shitty part o.O no pun intended.
In the morning, we moved our bags into the instructors' SPEED BOAT and carried our TRI-YAKS into the water. We paddled past CAMP 1 and CAMP 2, around Pulau Ketam and back to CAMP 2. That is about 10 kilometres. Because of lags and rest and being pushed back by the waves, we took about 5 hours -.-
Many became black were sunburned. Rashes took its toll. Had fun smacking people's back and watching them coil up in AGONY. Had a bathe and a wonderful dinner of OVERTINE AND MILO POWDER.
Not forgetting some IN A CIRCLE GATHERING with Andy. We kept laughing and laughing throughout when we were told to describe our experience - shitty, shitty and more shitty. PUN INTENDED! Andy simply couldn't help laughing as well. YUP, EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED - usually they will CONSOLE the victim, now they are laughing at them, helplessly.

Day 5
A day with mixed feelings. Want to go home, but simply don't feel like leaving the place. It was all too fun!
So I shall not talk about this very ironic day with ambiguous feelings.

HILLARY - Chia Ling, Andre, Zachary, Edmund, Clement, Ren Xiang, Cheng Cheng, Zhi Kang, Kaleb, Wei Ming, Kok Hon, Patrick and ANDY *

I tired to recall why I started a blog. Then I realised that it wasn't to keep a diary of my events but this, dedicated to 1B '05 and 2B '06:

Once upon a time, there live an evil witch. One day, she found a rock in her castle and demanded who threw it in. She insisted that nothing would happen if someone admits. No one own up, mainly because the rock was there at the start of time. Well, too bad. The witch cast drought in the village and starve the villagers.

One day, a brave man stood out. He volunteered to be the scapegoat.

He went to the castle accompanied by the village head and the important people.

He said: "I am sorry your Highness for having thrown the rock in."

"I knew it was you!" the witch exclaimed. "I saw you playing with a stone yesterday! I shall turn you into a toad and make sure you remain as a toad for your entire life. Your future WILL BE RUINED!"

The man was shocked.

All was too late...

Haizz, here comes the end of the hci-sngs exchange... i'll post about that some other time =.=

hehe wanna talk about ryan and some other gals amusing role play on A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare. Cyril caught it down on tape ;p It's a love story btw!!

Ryan played as LYSANDER ;p

HERMIA
So will I grow, so live, so die, my lord,
Ere I will my virgin patent up
Unto his lordship, whose unwished yoke
My soul consents not to give sovereignty.

I'll jump to the mushy part!

LYSANDER
How now, my love! why is your cheek so pale?
How chance the roses there do fade so fast?

HERMIA
Belike for want of rain, which I could well
Beteem them from the tempest of my eyes.

LYSANDER
Ay me! for aught that I could ever read,
Could ever hear by tale or history,
The course of true love never did run smooth;
But, either it was different in blood,--

HERMIA
O cross! too high to be enthrall'd to low.

LYSANDER
Or else misgraffed in respect of years,--

HERMIA
O spite! too old to be engaged to young.

LYSANDER
Or else it stood upon the choice of friends,--

HERMIA
O hell! to choose love by another's eyes.

LYSANDER
Or, if there were a sympathy in choice,
War, death, or sickness did lay siege to it,
Making it momentany as a sound,
Swift as a shadow, short as any dream;
Brief as the lightning in the collied night,
That, in a spleen, unfolds both heaven and earth,
And ere a man hath power to say 'Behold!'
(RYAN EXCLAIMED!!!)
The jaws of darkness do devour it up:
So quick bright things come to confusion.

HERMIA
If then true lovers have been ever cross'd,
It stands as an edict in destiny:
Then let us teach our trial patience,
Because it is a customary cross,
As due to love as thoughts and dreams and sighs,
Wishes and tears, poor fancy's followers.

LYSANDER
A good persuasion: therefore, hear me, Hermia.
I have a widow aunt, a dowager
Of great revenue, and she hath no child:
From Athens is her house remote seven leagues;
And she respects me as her only son.
There, gentle Hermia, may I marry thee;
And to that place the sharp Athenian law
Cannot pursue us. If thou lovest me then,
Steal forth thy father's house to-morrow night;
And in the wood, a league without the town,
Where I did meet thee once with Helena,
To do observance to a morn of May,
There will I stay for thee.

HERMIA
My good Lysander!
I swear to thee, by Cupid's strongest bow,
By his best arrow with the golden head,
By the simplicity of Venus' doves,
By that which knitteth souls and prospers loves,
And by that fire which burn'd the Carthage queen,
When the false Troyan under sail was seen,
By all the vows that ever men have broke,
In number more than ever women spoke,
In that same place thou hast appointed me,
To-morrow truly will I meet with thee.

LYSANDER
Keep promise, love. Look, here comes Helena.

:
:

HERMIA
Lysander and myself will fly this place.
Before the time I did Lysander see,
Seem'd Athens as a paradise to me:
O, then, what graces in my love do dwell,
That he hath turn'd a heaven unto a hell!

LYSANDER
Helen, to you our minds we will unfold:
To-morrow night, when Phoebe doth behold
Her silver visage in the watery glass,
Decking with liquid pearl the bladed grass,
A time that lovers' flights doth still conceal,
Through Athens' gates have we devised to steal.

HERMIA
And in the wood, where often you and I
Upon faint primrose-beds were wont to lie,
Emptying our bosoms of their counsel sweet,
There my Lysander and myself shall meet;
And thence from Athens turn away our eyes,
To seek new friends and stranger companies.
Farewell, sweet playfellow: pray thou for us;
And good luck grant thee thy Demetrius!
Keep word, Lysander: we must starve our sight
From lovers' food till morrow deep midnight.

LYSANDER
I will, my Hermia.

Extremely pissed today...
Now, i dun see why i needa work so hard till i'm sick now.
from the start of this thing, the teachers have not been supportive at all. so much for great ideas. I finally understood why leaders seldom get things done. They have great dreams, but these dreams never fulfilled because of those barrier that must keep appearing. Challenges are good, but what if these challenges deter you absolutely from achieving. Not achieving is one thing, the worst thing is those ppl out there, what will they say? man, we deserve a better leader? you noe it's not your fault, but you accept it as your fault. the feeling is there, you noe it's there...

and you noe you won't be able to face up to the world, and you will noe you won't be able to hold back your tears to see those disappointed and accusing faces..

they simply stream..

01/01/07 - The first day of the year...

Here's a meaningful poem forwarded to me by Crostini/MsRecondite...

As I was walking down life's highway many years ago, I came upon a sign that read
Heavens Grocery Store.

When I got a little closer the doors swung open wide
And when I came to myself, I was standing inside.

I saw a host of angels.

They were standing everywhere

One handed me a basket and said "My child, shop with care."

Everything a human needed was in that grocery store

And what you could not carry you could come back for more

First I got some Patience.

Love was in that same row.

Further down was Understanding,

You need that everywhere you go.

I got a box or two of Wisdom and Faith a bag or two.

And Charity of course

I would need some of that too.

I couldn't miss the Holy Ghost

It was all over the place.

And then some Strength and Courage to help me run this race.

My basket was getting full but I remembered I needed Grace,

And then I chose Salvation for Salvation was for free

I tried to get enough of that to do for you and me.

Then I started to the counter to pay my grocery bill,

For I thought I had everything to do the Masters will.

As I went up the aisle
I saw Prayer and put that in,

For I knew when I stepped outside I would run into sin.

Peace and Joy were plentiful, the last things on the shelf.

Song and Praise were hanging near so I just helped myself.

Then I said to the angel
"Now how much do I owe?"

He smiled and said "Just take them everywhere you go."

Again I asked "Really now, How much do I owe?"

"My child" he said,
"God paid your bill a long long time ago."

Sec One Orientation

Watched Eragon on 23rd Dec... What made it so special is that those who came along were not just ordinary friends =) Go figure out yourself ;p

SOO '07 (27-29 Dec '06) was such a success and will always be! My job is to be a buddy to Group 4 together with my co-buddy Jonathan. First day, I brought 1 box of Strepsil. Well, I'm quite disappointed in my group, quite anti-social and to be straightforward sucky... Of course, cannot tell them so direct -.- It's their first day anyway. While they listen to some talks, we were badly screwed. And i mean BADLY!! It was weird. They don't seem to realise our downcasted faces and went on moving like ghosts drifting aimlessly around the school. Afternoon, some talks by seniors and a very inspiring talk by 母后, they seem to wake up a bit. Evening, got screwed further but it was really so weird. Somehow, some of the seniors got so emotional that we were stunned. That day, I thought I went crazy. I went to NTUC, got the best honey they have and bought home a few more boxes of strepsils. The box I had that day was used up almost before lunch was over.

2nd day..
EP3 orientation... It was so disappointing when some OT members came and tell us our group was hopeless. I got no choice but to agree, cause it's really hopeless. It was so weird that they perform well only under pressure from other groups. After the cross country try outs, we had teabreak. Then, 母后 wanted us to do something crazy @_@. "S"he wanted us to cheer in female toilet. Kind of crazy. We went to poolside and too bad, no teachers to help us check out if the female toilet was empty, lol! Not that teachers approve of that... But, they don't disapprove either ;p So we went the male toilet instead. The OS and some OT members happen to be there. At first, we joined in, then allowed them to choose their own leader and left them to cheer by themselves. Too bad no locks to the toilets ;p Either way, we threatened to lock them inside till we are satisfied. No one was confident of the leader to be honest, till they were so loud that I could hear them from the carpark =.= For the first time, I was proud of my group ;p Some more orientations. Unlike other groups, we never have debriefs. Not throughout the entire course of the 3 days. 2 boxes of strepsils proved insufficient -.- and the honey was half gone! After 2 days of intense of shouting, I no longer have any voice. Went for dinner till 11+.. Suddenly remembered that there is no more strepsils back at home! At 12am, went to 7 eleven and bought 10 packets of Woods lozenges.. I left the shop with the cashier staring at me like I just came out of IMH -.-

3rd day...
I won't call it the 3rd day, but the last day. Well, 1 more day and it'll be true. Suddenly, the group became so hyped up. We told them of the cheers competition and they said they know. With Group 3 and their jeering, our group took the tables from the back of the class, lie them up, jump onto them and rock the entire place. I never knew they were so daring, and I knew it will turn out to be a good day. First the specialty event. No one was really interested in it, and so ain't I -.- At the 4th station, some groups were already at their last. Lagging by 2 stations!! We decided to abandon this stupid event and practise for the cheers competition. It didn't look so prospective, the group lacked confidence in their leader but what so assuring was that those who didn't open their mouth started mumbling the cheers. We planned what to do and told them that buddies are not allowed on stage -.- But that was not so. We decided that we would be the last group to perform. When Group 6 went up on stage and got a perfect score, everyone was demoralised. When the 2nd last group went up, Alfred came and told us that if we can do a perfect Rock You and get everyone to cheer with us, then our group will stand a good chance to emerge as champions. No one thought it was possible. The first 2 cheers were kind of screwed but they were really great. The last cheer, Rock You, which the group just learned and was unconfident of brough much anxiety. Then what came by a surprise was... The leader suddenly roared and asked for everyone to stand up. No one stood at first. Then the entire group shouted for the hall to stand. Then the OS suddenly ran up on stage and asked for all buddies to squeeze. The hand sign was given, everyone stood up. The leader gave the timing and instantly, the hall burst into life. When it ended with a 3 cheers, no flags were raised yet. The group started chanting for more points! At first, no flags, and all of a sudden all the flags were raised! Now there are 3 teams with perfect score. We went on to a tie breaker. The OT will now be the judges. Supposedly, 5 flags is the full score. Group 16 got 3 flags and followed by us. This time buddies were allowed to lead. We gave our best shot with Shan Ge and earned 5 flags for our effort! Our group was shouting for joy and thought we had grabbed the Champion titles securely in our hands. Then it was Group 6's turn. As they were cheering, a few more OT members joined in the judging. They got themselves 6 flags and in turn became the champions. It was greeted with a little jeering at first, then there was an announcement that the team had made a mistake and the full score is 6 flags. There was much murmurings and our group was protesting in disgust. In the end, we manage to convince the group that we should lose with grace. We did a 3 cheers for Group 6 but the disappointment and disgust lingers there. There was a mass cheering session followed by, eh something that isn't suppose to be posted ;p We brought our group to poolside for lunch, and finally, I found the bond building among the group. The quiet ones started talking and soon, our group became so lively that the poolside restaurant was bustling with life by our conversations. Much disappointment can be seen during class allocation since they would be separated soon. I really hope that they will always remember that a few days back, a few months back, a few years back, there was such an orientation and that Group 4 has evolved from the most disappointing group, which group 3 called as lousy, to the most bonded the group, the group which will be able to go around with their heads held high...

For the friendship that can end, has never been real...

Hi all! Have been away on a chalet =) It was so fun! However, Escape and Wild Wild Wet are kind of disappointing. The rides are fun but the choices are few. The Invertor was close, how disappointing. It has been closed for more than 3weeks and still under maintenance.

At night, we played cards and X box. Ai ya, details don't say ;p

I'll just leave you to ask me =)

Had quite a fun day, but the throat's almost sore! Well, actually, it's already sore from all those cheers. Gee, I sure am looking forward to it =)

Hmm, I added a last stanza to the poem. And of course, a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DAREN AND DEREK!!!

12/12/06 / Update to Dragons

Haha, coulnd't believe i found poems so fun!

here's a poem by pikapook!

they who frolicked in the endless sky,
whose scales shimmered
and wings extended,
and naught could compare.

and magnificent they were,
glorious a sight to behold,
betrothen to the azure sky,
legends of old, centerpiece of folklore.

yet much as naught can be compared,
betrayal unleashed its rage,
and mercilessly took its toll
on these mighty warriors of the skies.

their magnificence daunted,
beauty disfigured with the flaw of their hearts,
which once burned with fiery and flame,
now no more than a kindle.

the fall greater than ascension,
battered wings silent on the ground
never to take off again,
and tongues of fire extinguished with sands of time.

history fleeing with the wind,
sent pummeling into impaired memories,
and by the time we came around,
dragons were in a lifetime long past.

a faded memory in an obsolete mind,
a craving for a better time,
the forgotten fairytale,
a lifetime buried away with time.

tales of these aerial warriors by old folks retold,
came about a mysterious find that shone like gold.
wings lifted, dreams revived,
no longer was it, Once upon a time..

What a beautiful Saturday...

Started the day by re-reading Eragon ;p Believe or not, it is the 3rd time and I'm still reading it. Haha, simply couldn't wait for the movie =)

Went to Bishan library today with Ivan, doing some research for SMP ;p We are doing on some weird stuff so no choice, gotta bear with the EEKKK things, don't 想歪.
Honestly, I'm disappointed by the library - so small and found something amusing, no projects discussion and studying allowed -.-
Then, we went on to Woodlands Regional Library. Not much comfort since we are a little worn out. After slacking about and searching some info, we decided to call it a day.

At night, went to Sakura in Clementi (don't tease me for namesake). It is actually an international buffet and there is a widespread of food (filled 2 stories -.-). Quite ex but worth it ;p I at a lot, 1 sushi, 7 slices of sake salmon, 1 bowl of sharks fin soup(most probably fake, cos it's dam 恶), 1 bowl of cream of chicken with mushroom, 2 hagao(prawn thingy you eat at dim sum), some brocolli, teriyaki chicken, pizza(lots of them, around 7 slices!), 2 beef steak, 3 small containers/cups/plastic things of glass jelly, 1 another of those container of mango pudding, eh... let me think, 2 glass of lime juice, 1 cup of strong coffee(absolutely better than those at starbucks). Hmm, I think that's about it. Come to think of it, if each one of their customers were like me, they will be in the red soon =) Went home bloated -.-

Hee, class list release liao, i'm officially 3D'07, haiz, good thing or bad thing, i'll see next year. Here are my classmates:

FIRST POST!!!!! -.-
Hope you haven't get sick of the fairy tale yet ;p

Wah, so many things to talk about leh.

Hmm, first thing up was council retreat(8/11-10/11). First day, well, not too bad. Unlucky day for Cai Yong o.O. Passport expire, spill some stuff during dinner @_@. We visited the High 5 Bread Town. Found something amusing(that's what they wrote!!!):
India: Chapati
France: (got some names of bread you can find at DeliFrance)
.
(SOME OTHER COUNTRIES)
Malaysia: HIGH 5 BREAD!!!
After that trip, I kind of dread High 5 Bread ;o Propaganda backfired -.-
After one sian meeting, watched HBO, played some "weird" games ;o, and slept at 1:30am.

Second day, did we shop at Petronas(KLCC)? Ya, I think we did. Had lunch at a nice restaurant, unlike the previous day, did I mention that the food on the first was like, like... like.. beyond words =.= After a sumptuous meal, we went on a forest trail. Saw some real wonders ;p Night time! After a not so long meeting, we went on to such "activities". Well, here comes the "fun", if that's how you'll describe it. Screaming and dragging (someone) along the corridor, screaming, attracting the security guard, burning some paper in the toilet, shattering the glass on a photo frame, getting the entire curtain set coming down. Some fun involved ;p But it was a wonderful night. All that gang bangs, well, unexpectedly enjoyable @_@

Third day!!!! Last day.. Full day shopping. Went to Sushi King, then to the cinema to watch Step Up. Almost late for the bus =) BUT, RM6 for a ticket is kind of cheap, if you are willing to bear that heat and the air conditioner's mood swings (literally). Now, the journey back to Singapore. Laughter on the bus, and determination to complete unfinished "work". (Hehe, those who went you know what I mean ;p) And sadly, it remains undone... And will be during AGM, hopefully. After that, we spammed KAP and a well-earn dinner brought the end of these 3days to Malaysia. Good things may not last long, but memories are always there, to ponder over...

If you want more detailed insights of the retreat, look at the Links and click on the following people:
Ervin, Cyril, Hansen

The rest of the holidays, I'll leave for tomorrow ;p

Fairy Tale

Your future WILL BE RUINED!" The man was shocked.

All was too late...
